The Best Skier-Friendly accomodation in Chamonix Area, Bar None

Magical is an understatement when it comes to this place. Tucked away in the trees next to a babbling brook. it feels as if one is entering a private fantasy upon walking up to the chalet. The spot is paradise for the avid skier, however just about anybody would fall immediately in love with its charm. Luxuriously cozy, with warm fires, a wood-fired sauna, and a hot tub, this chalet is the perfect place to snuggle up after a long day out and about. The chalet itself is situated just a short walk from the center of Argentiere, which is a lovely town with everything you could need just outside of the craziness of Chamonix. Access to the mountains is ideal (you can ski down to the closest resort), and it is a short walk to the bus stop were you can catch a 10 minute bus-ride into Chamonix and other resorts. Beyond the accommodation itself though, what makes this chalet particularly special are the people that help to run it. Jon and his staff are incredibly attentive and genuinely lovely people who go above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to guest accommodation. From great advice about where to go and what to do in and around Chamonix, to an amazing attention to detail, Jon and the rest of the Marmotte Mountain crew are simply wonderful. Additionally, the catered food is beyond compare. It truly is 5-star dining in the comfort of a home. All in all, this place is spectacular. I can envision no better place to have stayed and it is so easy to feel immediately at home in this beautiful spot. The only caveat is that you won’t want to leave!

Marmotte Mountain Retreat – The Best Kind Of Retreat –

If only you could live like this forever. You wake up to a table laden with breakfast goodies, then you’re transported to anywhere in the valley for morning of mountain fun, board or ski down to your reserved table in the best savoyard restaurants, more fun in the snow and then back to the chalet for afternoon tea (a cake straight out of the oven waiting on the table), the jacuzzi and wood-fired sauna with incredible views (an arm’s length from an ample and varied supply of beverages) and then aperitifs by the fireplace before sitting down to an exquisite 4-course mean prepared by your own private chef. And whether you feel like skiing or boarding down the Aiguille du Midi, going to Italy to eat suckling pig at the base of the Mont Blanc, or you’d like your kids to learn to ski from the best instructors in France, you need only ask and it shall be done. I want to live here 🙂

A Memorable Weekend –

What an experience. We were a corporate group of 12 people and Jonathan and his team did an incredible job at hosting and making our trip an amazing experience. From the moment we stepped into the chalet to a roaring fire, and chilled beers, the attention to detail was second to none. Jonathan thought of everything and had great recommendations for ski hire, restaurants, transfers etc. I do have to say that Josh is one talented chef. The food produced for us whilst we were there was fantastic. Everyone commented on the dinner and that chocolate dessert!!

WOW! – What an Incredible Ski Trip!

We had the most divine ski trip staying at Marmotte Mountain Zenith (2) – the chalet is 1st class – the staff were so lovely and talented and relaxed and professional but friendly – really nice mix – but the food, the food, the food!!!!!!!!! Going out to restaurants on chef nights off is disappointing after experiencing the gourmet affair in the chalet. I could go on and on. And all of this is before even mentioning the skiing. Chamonix delivered! Fresh snow, off piste, tree skiing, Courmayeur in Italy – what an amazing selection of choices you have in 1 week! Well well recommended!

Very Spacious, Amazing Views – Luxury Finish –

Myself and some good friends chose Marmotte Mountain Zenith (1) based on the beautiful photos of the chalet. We were all very excited about our ski trip to Chamonix but when we arrived, the chalet was even better than we had imagined from the photos. So beautiful! Views incredible. Location great – just a few mins into centre of Argentiere – cool little village too! Rooms spacious. Sauna really good. And the cinema is a really nice touch and a great place to keep you fresh for the next day of skiing. Our chef Blake was so so so good! Food was highlighted as a feature of the holiday before arrival and this was also an amazing part of our holiday. Blake Fois Gras was the best i have ever tasted! But best of all, we were only a few minutes from the magical ski resort of les Grands Montets – this mountain has to be probably my favourite place i have ever skied in Europe. Such a huge amount of varied terrain. You have the feeling you are hardly ever on the ski lifts, the runs are so long – so so much vertical metres can be skied in one day – really really fun place to ski. Highly recommended!

Marvellous & Unforgettable-

We stayed all the month of august with some family and friends. The chalet was full. I was afraid about the organisation and work i would have to do to organise my friends but i had nothing to worry about finally. I was pleasantly surprised that we had more services than we even needed. The staff were like our family and always tried to make the best for us, they were available even when they were free. I have 2 small dogs and i thought it might be difficult for me but staff (Renata) were very welcoming and even looked after our dogs when needed. The dogs had some incredible adventures, even better than with me. And always during the stay, the think you thought was impossible they made it happen. But the most quality was that they were always happy, always smiling and i really wanted to bring them home with me. The food was marvellous and the chef always understood what you liked and he did his best to accommodate our personal needs. Everything was possible. I also advise the messes Hattie – she’s the top i have ever had. And Jon the manager, is very kind and available. I could write very long tex about all the good things we had, but only think i have to tell you, don’t think, just GO. Thank you Jon, Renata, James, Hattie for have made some beautiful holidays. Just had the most beautiful stay in Argentiere Chamonix! Jon and his Marmotte Mountain staff were an absolute pleasure. The quality of food and level of service was amazing, as was the chalet. All our needs were taken care of from start to finish ensuring our skiing holiday was the most successful and stress free experience to date. We were incredibly spoiled, thank you Jon and team! This was by far the best ski week we have ever had and that was thanks to Jon and his amazing staff at Marmotte Mountain. From the booking process to the actual holiday, everything about this trip was so stress free and such a pleasant experience. My friends and I stayed in the Azimuth chalet for a week in March. From the moment we walked into the chalet the chef and host were welcoming, very attentive and nothing was too much to ask of them. From the amazing views of Mont Blanc, the layout of the chalet, the large bedrooms, transfers to and from the slopes, the afternoon tea, food and the general chat and such good company… everything was perfect! I cannot thank Jon and his team enough for the most amazing time away. I highly recommend booking any of Marmotte Mountain’s chalets. You will be nothing but impressed by such high quality of hospitality. Thanks again Jon. We can’t wait to see you all again next year!

This was bar none the best snowboard trip Ive ever been on and I’ve been on plenty! Short of the unbelievable conditions and views that Chamonix has to offer, the Marmotte Mountain Adventure team absolutely waited on us hand and foot the entire week. The gourmet food was spectacular, the rustic accommodations were breath taking and again the team that catered to us for the week were unbelievably gracious and friendly. I would recommend this trip to any and everyone!

Where Do I Start?

I don’t usually do (no scratch that) I never do reviews but on this occasion I felt compelled to as it was just an amazing experience. I don’t really know where to start. We stayed in Marmotte Mountains Eco Lodge for my 40th birthday celebration in April 2017. There was a gang of us all with young children. The location of the lodge couldn’t be better a 10 minute walk along the trails into Cham centre. Waking up every morning with Mt Blanc gently cuddling me was something I don’t think I could ever tire of. The chalet itself is an architecturally beautiful and is located smack bank in the centre of Gods’ back garden , over looked by Mt Blanc a 10 minute walk into the centre of Cham , it just doesn’t get any better. While the chalet itself was amazing what made the trip was Jon and the wonderful Marmottes. Nothing was a problem every request was attended to and taken care so professionally and with grace and charm. The food was just unbelievable , from their super breakfasts the likes of which I have never seen , to the home cooked cakes and bread after boarding. One of the people staying is a chef for over 20 years and he had never had food like it. Josh’s oyster and fois gras was a personal fav of mine. The whole experience from being picked up at the airport to being dropped back and everything in between was something I will never forget. Location , accommodation, food, hosts, and the amazing Marmottes were out of this world.

Incredible, Without Doubt, The Best Chalet Ive Ever Stayed In –

Our en-suite room (with huge walk in wardrobe) offered views across the valley and up to the mountains including Aiguille du Midi, we were also fortunate to have the hot tub just outside to rest our weary bones (with beers) after our days on the slopes. The chalet was incredible, faultless, immaculate, with huge glass panels overlooking the valley. The food and service was impeccable, and nothing was to much bother for our wonderful chef (Josh) and host (Amy) – I’m really missing not having them at my beck and call! This is our 5th year with the Marmotte Mountain Team, See you next year!

Amazing Winter Holiday In a Picture Perfect Setting –

It is the second time we book a winter holiday with Jon and we will definitely return again next year. This is the perfect place. The chalet feels totally secluded, surrounded by forest and with two streams running past it, but is only a couple of minutes walk from the quaint village of Argentiere. It is really family-friendly with a separate TV room (for the kids), a wood-fired sauna, and a hot tub, but at the same time as having all the amenities (fast wifi as well) it has the feeling of a genuine old-style ski chalet, with lots of wooden details and a big open fire in the living room. We had the best team helping us making this into a memorable experience, from Jon attending to all our needs before the trip to our amazing ski instructor and a fantastic chef and host who were extremely helpful and service-minded.

Not really used to the 5* treatment, but I must say after staying with these guys I could get used to it! Everything was immaculate, the guys working in the chalet couldn’t do enough to help, the food was INSANE, couldn’t wish for anything better! James.

Mountain Luxury with equally Amazing Food –

10 of us stayed for a week in the luxury of the Eco lodge. Waking up to a breakfast banquet and then off to the slopes for the day. Josh and Amy, our amazing host and chef, took care of everything we needed and went out of their way to make sure we had the most amazing week. The chalet itself exceeded all expectations and I loved soaking my aching legs in the huge hot tub. Josh created the most amazing dishes for us to try and carefully explained each one – my favourites being a delicate swordfish starter, the birthday wood-fired BBQ feast and the seven course taster menu served up on our last night. What an experience!!!

Probably best skiing week that our family has ever had

Thank you for probably the best skiing week that our family has ever had! Your knowlege of such a large area from the right mountain for the day down to the snatched small 10 turn powder runs made this a fantastic experience. You catered for a large variance in skiing ability making our whole team feel the experience without anybody having to hold us up. From the restaurant bookings to running us around from Megeve, Courmayer and the rest of the Chamonix valley, you made us feel very well looked after. Always with good humour. Always with style. Your technique of teaching off piste technique was particularly good with small bytes of very well thought through tips that were given occasionally and helped everyone. Thank you Jean Michel for making our holiday so special.

Once in a Lifetime Must –

There is not one part of this holiday experience that really wasn’t out of this world. The staff, which seems odd to call them this, are marvellous, interesting, funny and just lovely people, the food is the best I have experienced, and I do love good food, the accommodation is absolute luxury… everything was just brilliant, including the skiing for someone who had never been before! Everything was fabulous. A true must for all, worth every penny – I would say more!

What a fantastic experience, the week was everything we could have hoped for and more. The hospitality was excellent the food may have been the best I have ever had and the advice on where to go and what to do hit the mark every time. Jon and his team were great value for money and we all hope to see them again soon.

Courcheval –

We went to Courchevel this year and on the very first day of arrival we all again agreed that Marmotte Mountain is still unbeatable in terms of accommodation, services, cuisine and everything else. It was not that bad as last year in Canazei, but still far not that good. You have set such a high standard! So we keep recommending you to our friends and hope to be able to plan well in advance to book maybe for the next New Year.
